Environmentalist David Suzuki is concerned about not only the continued rapid growth in world population but also the economic growth model that all countries follow. As he points out in this video, the combination of the two is suicidal.

A long time activist to tackle global climate change, Suzuki co-founded the David Suzuki Foundation in 1990, to work “to find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that does sustain us.” According to the foundation, the priorities are: oceans and sustainable fishing, climate change and clean energy, sustainability, and Suzuki’s Nature Challenge. He also served as a director of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association from 1982 to 1987.
Suzuki has been a forceful voice for action on climate change, calling for major action before it is too late.
Suzuki says that despite the growing consensus about man-made global warming and its effects on climate, many in the public and the media seemed doubtful about the science for many years. The reason for the confusion about climate change, in Suzuki’s view, was due to a well-organized campaign of disinformation about the science involved. As he points out, many climate change deniers have deep pockets, including fossil fuel companies.
