Once considered one of the most conservative cities in the country, and known largely for its industrial manufacturing history, Indianapolis may seem like an unlikely leader in the movement to create more vibrant, healthy, equitable communities.

It is inspiring and heartening to see so many citizens — whether from nearby neighborhoods or across the country — pitching in with relief efforts in New York and New Jersey following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. The drive to help those in need of shelter, clothing, and food continues, while the focus is slowly beginning to turn to rebuilding. Global Green USA knows well the challenges of rebuilding, as we led the green rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. I had the crazy idea that our organization could help rebuild better homes, schools, and neighborhoods. And we did. TIME magazine recognized our leadership and wrote, “No organization is doing more to green New Orleans than Global Green USA.”

Fox News fan and climate change denier does about-face after watching “Chasing Ice” documentary
Bill O’Reilly has been put on notice by a former fan who claims to have watched his Fox News show every day and took his word for it that climate change is nothing to worry about. Well, today she watched the incredible new documentary film Chasing Ice and left the theater determined to educate all of her friends (whom she had convinced that global warming was fake) about the reality of climate change.
